The climb up would knock the ribs out of you
as the name of the mountain suggests perhaps
so you should have known better.
You do know that you're above the tourist contour
when the sheep stand their ground
and you seem to be looking down
on the Caha Mountains
and the fields have morphed into stone
and you can actually count the Twelve Pins
on the other side of Kenmare Bay
and you wish you had a compass
for this mountain pass seems to be heading eastwards
and your target is a northwestward facing pub
and the sign for Seán Ó Súilleabáin's way about a mile back
just might have been the road more travelled
and if you could find a door to knock on
you'd ask a friendly soul for directions
and maybe even a lift
and you'd go sink a pint in Helen's Bar.

Are these roads even on maps, I wonder?
